REVIEW| POND'S FLAWLESS RADIANCE BB CREAM IN CHOCOLATE

Pond's Flawless Radiance BB Cream in Chocolate
I'm probably the last person to jump onto the BB Cream Review bandwagon but hey, better late than never!

I have seen a number of great articles about the latest BB Creams that have hit the South African beauty market and so I opted to try out the Pond's Flawless Radiance BB Cream in Chocolate. To be honest, I was very eager to try it out because, although I had had my fair share of unsightly try-outs in the store, when I saw the ads describing how it had been specially developed for African skin, I was given a glimmer of hope!

Lovely packaging

The packaging of the BB Cream is very attractive and I loved that it was travel-size- small enough to carry in your emergency makeup bag. Although relatively inexpensive (<R100), compared to other BB Creams that are similarly as inexpensive, I found the 25ml offered to be too small an amount.

I appreciated the light-weight and creamy, yet non-greasy texture. Moreover, it has SPF30 and it blended well into my skin (I have a medium-dark complexion as seen in my freshly-washed, no makeup face below). I wasn't too fond of the fragrance and found it to be incredibly (to my dismay) long-lasting.

Pond's BB Cream promises an even-tone, flawless radiance with natural coverage. I saw and loved the radiance it promises (powdered it down a bit), but was greatly disappointed with the coverage- it was too natural for my liking; I looked the same as I did before I applied it. Although I was pleased with the radiance, I'm not enticed to repurchase the BB Cream.

Here is my detailed review on Beauty Bulletin
Before and After shots (appearance may be slightly affected by room lighting, no flash used)

Disclaimer: I would like  to mention that this review is based on my own experience with the BB Cream and the results may differ on another person and I bought the product myself.

Have any of you tried it out and if so, were you pleased with the results?

Much Love,

  1. i used the Garnier BB Cream recently.
i too found it very light, almost all moisturizer based. although it's affordable and does the trick, i quickly returned to using my MAC tinted moisturizer.

    nice review!

    1. Thank you JoJo! I haven't tried the Garnier BB Cream, but I totally get why you would opt for your tinted moisturizer...they simply have more coverage

  2. I like the Ponds BB Cream more than the Garnier one, Beauty Bulletin also sent me one to review, but they sent the Chocolate one, which is way too dark for me.

Also welcome to the SA blogosphere

    1. Thank you Odette!

It's unfortunate that there are only two shades available from the Ponds BB cream range, but maybe they will develop others in the future.

  4. This sort of thing needs to happen! Simply letting the quota happen isn’t acceptable. This will help you stay above the curve. numbing spray for cuts
