First of all, let me just say HAPPY 2018 and thank you for clicking that link and coming to check out what's happening on the blog! I probably haven't said it in a while but I truly appreciate all my readers and can't be more grateful for your continued support. If you are new to the blog, WELCOME!! I hope you'll enjoy what you find here.
I trust that you've had a great start to the year and are making substantial progress on those "New Year, New Me' resolutions. If not, recommit and get onto it! I also fell back on a few goals (my sugar-free eating plan hasn't quite seen the light of day) but I managed to tick a couple off the list, including getting a custom domain name, VERYMEVERYV.COM (heyyyyy) and revamping the blog. Those were actually two of 2017's goals that I didn't meet, so I decided to dedicate January to a bit of blog- and self-care. Self-care for me meant a bit of a retreat from social media (particularly Instagram) - I felt that I needed to gather myself, refocus and just enjoy a bit of a slow start to the year. As you know, everything on social media happens at quite a frenzied pace which at times can leave one feeling a bit displaced. I ended 2017 and started 2018 overcome by extreme anxiety, which came partly from personal issues and also from feeling unmotivated and uninspired with regards to blogging. The last place you want to find yourself as a blogger/content creator is on the avenue of zero creativity and lack of vision, so I've spent the last few days just sourcing inspiration for blog posts and drafting content for the next couple of weeks. I think I'll share some of the tips I used to get motivated in another post, so keep an eye out for that. Actually, follow me on Instagram, Twitter or Bloglovin' to get an early bird notification when a new post is up!
Anyway, just wanted to say 'Hello'! It felt a bit odd just jumping straight into a regular beauty post without acknowledging the new year. I hope 2018 is indeed a turn-over year for all of us!
'Til next time,
V
